ABOUT MÉXICO

Mexico is a Federal Republic that proclaimed its independence from Spain on September 16, 1810.
The republican democratic representative federal Regime was established with the Constitution of 1824.
The Constitution currently in forcé was approved by Congress on February 5, 1917.

The Supreme Power of the Federation is divided, for its exercise, in the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Powers.

The Executive Branch governs inaccordance with the provisions of the legislation. Its holder, Constitutional President of the United Mexican States, is elected through direct elections every six years and can not be re-elected.
